Queensland State Planning Policy for Healthy Waters

The Queensland State Planning Policy for Healthy Waters (SPP) and the State Planning Policy Guideline for Healthy Waters were approved in October 2010 and will become effective from 28 February 2011. This will allow for information sessions to be conducted in various Queensland centres – details will be available shortly. The SPP will ensure that development for urban purposes under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009, including community infrastructure, is planned, designed, constructed and operated to manage stormwater and waste water in ways that protect the environmental values prescribed in the Environmental Protection (Water) Policy 2009.
