Urban goals and targets in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

On 2 August, the UN’s 193 Member States reached consensus on the outcome document that will constitute the new sustainable development agenda to be considered and adopted by world leaders at a September UN Summit. Goals relevant to the urban environment include “Goal 11 Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” (page 12) under which there are a series of targets (pages 18-19).
