My City, The people’s verdict

The Property Council of Australia commissioned the largest ever survey on attitudes towards the liveability of Australia’s cities and government performance in urban policy. Factors that Australians give cities the thumbs-up for include their recreational and outdoor areas (79 per cent average city approval) and natural environments (76 per cent approval). However, Australians were very critical of government performance in areas such as roads and traffic congestion (39 per cent approval); public transport (36 per cent approval); and environmental sustainability and climate change (33 per cent approval).
